Wells Mansion is built.

(ca.) It is located on Salem Street. Purchased by Adam Winship in 1700, the home is subsequently owned for many years by the Wells family. It is one of the oldest frame houses in the North End by the late 19th century and reputed to be the last with two projecting upper stories. The house is subsequently demolished.
